Justin Jacobs

My name is Justin Jacobs, a 44 year old, black man living in America.  As a proud American I feel the need to share my thoughts and opinions on certain subject matter as it pertains to living in this country. I'm a father, blue collar worker and business owner of Justin Love Entertainment. I've seen what it's like to live on both ends of the spectrum, from near poverty to near "upper middle class" so I feel that I have a certain perspective on life in
America. As a DJ and business owner I truly believe in what this country could be and strive to make the American dream a reality for me and my family. The reason I started this podcast is to share and to make aware the differences between people and how to better respect one another, to shed the fear and the programming that for far too long has dictated how we relate to one another, and to bring a better understanding to what it means to me to be a true ally. Thank you to all who have given this podcast a chance.

Mary Campbell

I'm Mary.  I am a 39 year old white woman that has been afforded and benefitted from a large amount of privilege throughout my life.  I have a Masters in Social Work and have been working in the social service sector for most of my career with over 12 years in the field of child welfare.  I spearhead a Race Equity Committee that is focused on improving racial disparity in child welfare at the local level.  Every man that I have loved in my life has been Black or Brown.  Due to this, I have had experiences that most white people have not in our society.  White people are the ones benefiting from the system in place that continues to perpetuate poor outcomes for communities of color.  Part of the problem with the system is that the white supremacy that is baked into it has built in blinders and allows for white people to remain ignorant.  White people need to first see the problem, acknowledge it, and actively work towards repairing it.
